| On Tuesday, September 25, 2007,
Florida's State Surgeon General, Dr. Ana Viamonte Ros, and Deputy State
Health Officer, Lillian Rivera visited the Wakulla County Health
Department. After touring the facility, Dr. Viamonte Ros and Ms. Rivera
were given presentations by the county manager, Ben Pingree and nursing
director, Jody Smith. The health department staff then had the pleasure
of hearing Dr. Viamonte and Ms. Rivera share their vision for DOH and
express their support of local county health departments. Afterward, we
all enjoyed a fish fry luncheon sponsored by the Wakulla CHD staff.
Also in attendance were Ed Brimner,
County Commissioner, Lynn Artz from the Wakulla County Healthcare Task
Force, and Kris Money from Representative Marti Coley’s office.
